Zurich Classic Brings Back Team Golf to the PGA Tour

Did you know there actually used to be real-deal tournament play with an actual team format on the PGA Tour?  Embarrassingly, I did not, but it’s not like it’s been in recent history or anything.  For the first time in 36 years the PGA Tour will once again have a team-play format courtesy of the Zurish Classic in 2017.

That news alone was pretty sweet, but then we find out two killer teams have been made.  Rickie Fowler dropped the “bombshell” on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive that he was teaming up with a slightly above average Australian player named Jason Day.  If that wasn’t crazy enough, it was also announced that Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson would reunite the dominant Ryder Cup force (and remember how they went first and second at the Olympics?).  These are going to be two tough teams.  Who’s next?  DJ and Rory?
