What we’ve got here is an imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolates, then cave-aged in oak bourbon barrels for an entire year to make sure wonderful bourbon undertones come through in the finish. -Founders
Am I going to sit here and tell you that Founders “Kentucky Breakfast Stout” is the best bourbon barrel aged Imperial in the craft beer game? Not anymore, but KBS is really damn good. It’s started leaking into distribution from the Michigan brewery a few weeks ago, but we just got in Chicago this past week. In years past, we’re talking big lines, tight bottle limits, and quick sellouts, but this year there’s apparently much more supply and it was much easier to get your hands on. So keep your eyes peeled if you’re a stout drinker and see if you can pick up a four pack.
